To find Adventureland turn left at Cinderella's Castle. Greeted by the pulsating rhythms of beating drums, the raucous squawking of tropical birds, and the occasional boom of distant cannon fire . Surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, your senses are immediately immersed in the rich themes of this exotic land.

Adventureland is really not one land but many. It is a mix of several different cultures from around the world. Africa, the Caribbean, and Southeast Asia are all represented here along with Polynesia and other exotic locations. In this exotic land you can take a cruise up the Amazon or the Nile, set sail through the pirate infested waters of the Caribbean, or shop in a bazaar right out of the Arabian Nights. You can even fly a magic carpet!

Adventureland has been my favorite land in the Magic Kingdom since my first visit to Disney World back in 1980. Now I am now married with two children and Adventureland has become a family favorite. It may not have the thrill rides of Frontierland and Tomorrowland but it more than makes up for that with its elaborate themes and two of Disney's best classic attractions (Pirates of the Caribbean and The Jungle Cruise).

Dining choices are a little thin on the ground in Adventureland but there are some interesting snacks and light meals available. See below for details.

ALOHA ISLE: Located close by the Swiss Family Treehouse, this snack stand serves snacks with a tropical twist such as pineapple spears, floats, soft serve ice cream, and the favorite of many a Walt Disney World guest PINEAPPLE FLAVOR DOLE WHIPS !!!

EL PIRATA Y EL PERICO: As the name suggests, this counter service restaurant close by the Pirates of the Caribbean has a Spanish theme serving Mexican type foods like tacos, nachos, taco salads, and beef empanadas EL PIRATA Y EL PERICO has a large covered seating area but operates on a seasonal basis and may not always be open. For those who are wondering, the name translates to"The Pirate And The Parrot".

The Egg Roll Wagon: Open seasonally this Cart as the name suggests specializes in egg rolls (shrimp, pork, and vegetable) as well as a variety of soft drinks and bottled water. This is a great spot for inexpensive food (a rarity in any theme park). The Egg Roll Waggon Closed as of January 2008
