One of Disney's very best attractions the Jungle Cruise embraces all the ideas and concepts that Walt Disney had in mind when he first came up with the idea of a family orientated theme park.

This Adventureland attraction is pure Disney Magic. While it may be true that in these days of high tech thrill-a-minute rides it might be considered by some to be a little dated, I and many others find Jungle Cruise to be one of Disney's most endearing and creative attractions. A true Disney classic.



The Jungle Cruise is an expedition by boat on four different rivers: the Amazon, Nile, Congo, and Me Kong.

Along the way you will encounter all manner of animatronic animals (and natives) from elephants and rhinos to snakes, gorillas, and even a witch doctor selling shrunken heads.

What really makes the Jungle Cruise fun, though, is the skipper of the boat. His (or her) non-stop commentary filled with some of the worst jokes and puns you will ever hear, keeps everyone laughing.

As each skipper will throw in a few ad libs of their own, each trip is a little different. I never get tired of this ride.

My 14 year old son still finds the jokes hysterically funny regardless of how many times he has heard them.



My Verdict:

Don't miss this classic Adventureland attraction.

TIPS:

Always check the board at the entrance for approximate wait times before getting in line. This is a very slow loading attraction and at busy times the wait can be long.

The line winds around a lot and it is impossible to tell how many people are in line just by looking. If the wait is longer than 30 minutes then take a fast pass and return to ride later.

If you like to mess around with remote control boats, check out Shrunken Ned's Junior Jungle Boats, for about $1 (make sure you have quarters on hand). Either you or your children can spend a few minutes of relaxing fun navigating a model boat around obstacles on a small lake.
